Pastor's Letter for the May 1, 2022 bulletin

Congratulations to our 12 children participating in First Holy Communion this afternoon, May 1st! May the Lord bless them with a daily walk close to the Lord and surrounded with the graces of salvation!

Thank you, especially, to Sr. Mariadele who has been the primary catechist in preparation for First Reconciliation and for First Holy Communion.  She has done double-duty over these past several years, serving as catechist for the students in our Sunday morning Parish School of Religion group as well as daily at St. Benedict School.

I enjoyed hearing the enthusiasm of a number of our students, including 2nd graders, at recent school Masses where they have shown a thorough knowledge of various aspects of our Faith. Thank you to all of our catechists who go the extra mile for faith formation.

Please see elsewhere in the bulletin the beginnings of information about the return of Vacation Bible School this summer at the end of June.  Thank you to both Traci Mitchell and Jacob Padden for their enthusiasm in planning for this.

Please mark your calendars for something very new! We are planning to have our first-ever Blessing of Bikes on Sunday afternoon, May 22nd at Sts. Peter and Paul in Lore City. Have you wanted to have a holy Harley or to have your wheels blessed?  The blessing is planned for 1:30 p.m. in the parking lot at Sts. Peter and Paul.  So, plan to ride out there for the 12:15 p.m. Mass or after one of our other weekend Masses and join us for this new event!

As the school year has about three weeks to go for this year, please note, again, that registrations for the new school year are underway. Our enrollment looks very good for the upcoming year, but I would like to note that our very strong preschool program has a fair number of openings available.  Please call our school office for more information about registration: (740) 432-6751.

Thank you to all who have been providing some extra decorations and repair work in our three cemeteries. Plans are underway for replacing the foundations for many monuments at our Holy Trinity Mt. Calvary Cemetery that are affected so strongly by the hillside locations of the cemetery.

May Our Lord Jesus Christ help us to experience the transforming power of His mercy as He helps us to be always ready for the gift of eternal life in Heaven!
