Pastor's Letter for the August 22, 2021 bulletin

Please note that we are planning to go ahead with the photo sessions for a new picture directory.

So, please mark your calendars both for the date range for the photo directory sessions and for the upcoming sign-up opportunities.  We are planning for photo sessions on Wednesday, September 8th through Saturday, September 11th in the St. Benedict Church Conference Room (3:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., Wednesday through Friday; 10:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday the 11th) and on Tuesday, September 14th & Wednesday, September 15th (2:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.) in the Sts. Peter & Paul Social Hall in Lore City.  Sign-ups for the photo sessions will be available next weekend, both in person after each weekend Mass and online. We’ll have links to the online sign-up in next weekend’s bulletin as well.  The photo directory company has a very thorough protocol for cleansing and spacing between each photo session and for reviewing the photos after the sessions.

If you are still hesitant to participate in the photo sessions, please know that we will include extra space in this year’s picture directory for submitted photos.

Please mark your calendar for this year’s Mass of Anointing that we’re planning for Sunday afternoon, September 26th.  We are planning to have the Mass itself in St. Benedict Church, which will allow for plenty of space between each person or household.  We will plan to have every other pew roped off provide better spacing.  Then, we will gather in the Social Hall for refreshments and fellowship afterwards.

I’d like to try again to hike part of the Buckeye Trail for our Holy Hiker trek this month, today, Sunday, August 22nd.  As mentioned last month, we have many miles of this statewide trail that pass through Guernsey County.  So, I would like to connect with part of the Buckeye Trail that meanders through Salt Fork State Park, on the eastern end of Salt Fork.  As before, I plan to leave from the Gomber Avenue parking lot at 2:30 p.m. and arrive at the Group Camping parking area along Parker Road, again, on the east side of Salt Fork around 3:00 p.m.  This parking area is close to U.S. 22, about ¼ mile in, on the left-hand side.

May Our Lord Jesus Christ help us to experience the transforming power of His mercy as He helps us to be always ready for the gift of eternal life in Heaven!
